Copra drops on subdued demand

Copra prices dropped at the spices market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid higher arrivals from producing regions.

Meanwhile, black pepper and ginger prices remained stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Copra office Kozhikode and copra Rajapur prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 9,100 and Rs 10,400 from Monday's closing level of Rs 9,200 and Rs 10,500, respectively.

Copra office Alapuzha and Copra edible moved down by Rs 50 per quintal each to Rs 9,250 and Rs 10,050 as against Rs 9,300 and Rs 10,100 yesterday.

Black pepper (per kg) 555/610 (555/610), ginger bleached (per kg) 265 (265), ginger unbleached (per kg) 285 (285), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,250 (9,300), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,100 (9,200), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 10,400 (10,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,050 (10,100).
