Copra edible prices eased in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today following subdued demand from stockists and retailers.

Elsewhere, black pepper also fell owing to reduced offtake from stockists and retailers.

Other spices ruled steady in the absence of any large- scale buying activity.

Copra edible Mumbai declined by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 10,000 from last Saturday's level of Rs 10,100.

Black pepper moved down by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 610/680 as against Rs 620/690 previously.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 610/680 (620/690), ginger unbleached (per kg) 120 (120), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 9,300 (9,300), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,200 (9,200), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 10,500 (10,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,000 (10,100).
