Copra edible prices rose sharply at the spices market here today due to sustained buying from bulk consumers and stockists supported by strong upcountry demand.

Copra Alapuzha and Kozhikode declined owing to reduced offtake from millers coupled with good arrivals.

While, black pepper, ginger and copra Rajapur Mumbai all ended at their overnight levels in the absence of necessary buying support.

Copra edible Mumbai spurted by Rs 500 per quntal to Rs 13,500 from Monday's closing level of Rs 13,000.

However, copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode both dropped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 11,000 and Rs 10,900 respectively, as against Rs 11,200 and Rs 11,100 previously.
