Copra extends gains on persistent demand

Copra prices extended gains at the spices market here today on persistent demand from stockists and retailers amidst seasonal offtake.

Meanwhile, spices maintained a stable trend in the absence of any largescale buying activity.

Copra Rajapur shot up by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 21,500 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 21,000.

Copra edible Mumbai rose by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 13,500 from Rs 13,200.

Copra office Alapuzha and Copra office Kozhikode moved up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 9,700 and Rs 9,600 as compared to Rs 9,600 and Rs 9,500 yesterday.

Black pepper (per kg) 710/760 (710/760), ginger bleached (per kg) 220 (220), ginger unbleached (per kg) 240 (240), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,700 (9,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,600 (9,500), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 21,500 (21,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,500 (13,200).
