Copra prices flared up at the spices market here today on emergence of heavy buying by stockists and bulk traders coupled with reduced arrivals from key producing regions.
Elsewhere, ginger also surged on the back robust demand from exporters and upcountry buyers amid speculation over a steep fall in production during the current season.
Black pepper, however maintained its stable trend in the absence of necessary buying support.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai jumped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 10,000 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 9,800 and copra edible Mumbai spurted by Rs 150 per quintal to Rs 9,300 from Rs 9,150 previously.
Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode strengthened by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 8,700 and 8,600 as compared with Rs 8,600 and Rs 8,500 yesterday.
Ginger bleached and unbleached both hardened by Rs 45 per kg to Rs 250 and Rs 260, as against its last closing level of Rs 205 and Rs 215, respectively.
