Copra moves up on good demand

Rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of any market moving factors.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra Rajapur Mumbai shot up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,700 from Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,900 and Rs 6,600.

Copra office Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai climbed by Rs 50 per quintal each to Rs 3,900 and Rs 4,850 as against Rs 3,850 and Rs 4,800 previously.

The following are today's closing rates in Rs with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 430/455 (430/455), ginger bleached (per kg) 120 (120), ginger unbleached (per kg) 130 (130), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 4,000 (3,900), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 3,900 (3,850), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 6,700 (6,600) Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 4,850 (4,800).
