Copra office Kozhikode recovered in an otherwise lacklustre trade at spices market here today due to fresh demand from stockists.

However, copra office Alapuza slipped due to lower offtake from stockists.

Meanwhile, rest of the spices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile large-scale buying activity.

Copra office Kozhikode climbed by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,700 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 7,500 and copra office Alapuza declined by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,500 as compared to Rs 7,700 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 665/735 (665/735), ginger bleached (per kg) 230 (230), ginger unbleached (per kg) 250 (250), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 7,500 (7,700), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 7,700 (7,500), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 17,000 (17,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,300 (9,300).
