Copra prices ease on lower demand

Prices of select copra, including copra office alappuzha and copra office kozhikode, eased further at the spices market here today due to lower demand from stockists and retailers amidst subdued demand from exporters.

While, other spices held stable in the absence of any large-scale buying activity.

Copra office alappuzha and copra office kozhikode declined by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 13,500 and Rs 13,300 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 13,600 and Rs 13,400, respectively.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 380/440 (380/440), ginger unbleached (per kg) 150 (150) copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 13,500 (13,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 13,300 (13,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 20,000 (20,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 16,800 (16,800).
