Copra prices strengthen on rising demand

Copra Rajapur Mumbai and copra edible Mumbai strengthened in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today following rising demand from stockists and retailers amid good festive offtake.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai rose by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 11,200 from the last closing level of Rs 11,000.

Copra Edible Mumbai rose by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 10,100 as against 10,000 previously.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 630/700 (630/700), ginger bleached (per kg) 120 (120), ginger unbleached (per kg) 140 (140), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 9,200 (9,200), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,100 (9,100), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 11,000 (11,200), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,100 (10,000).
