Copra Rajapur flares up on lacklustre trade

Copra Rajapur prices flared up sharply in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today due to firm buying from stockists and bulk traders amidst adequate supplies.

Meanwhile, rest of the spices ruled steady in the absence of any major buying activity.

Copra Rajapur shot-up by Rs 1,500 per quintal to Rs 21,000 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 19,500.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 765/815 (765/815), ginger bleached (per kg) 320 (320), ginger unbleached (per kg) 340 (340), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 12,000 (12,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,000 (11,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 21,000 (19,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,800 (13,700).
