Copra surges on heavy offtake by stockists

Copra office Alapuzha, copra Rajapur and copra edible prices surged at spices market here today on heavy buying from stockists and bulk traders amid good demand from milling units.

Rest of the spices ruled steady in the absence of any major buying.

Copra office Alapuzha shot up by Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 12,000 from Monday's closing level of Rs 11,000.

Copra Rajapur climbed by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 19,500 from Rs 19,000.

Copra office Kozhikode and copra edible moved up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 11,000 and Rs 13,800 as against Rs 10,900 and Rs 13,700 previously.
