Copra surges on rising demand

Copra prices surged at the spices market here today due to rising demand from stockists and millers amidst higher export offtake as well as restricted arrivals from producing belts.

Black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleached prices maintained a stable trend in the absence of any major buying.

Copra office Kozhikode spurted by Rs 700 per quintal to Rs 7,000 from Monday's closing level of Rs 6,300 previously.

Copra office Alapuzha shot-up by Rs 650 per quintal to Rs 7,150 from Rs 6,500.

Copra edible climbed by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 7,900 from Rs 7,500.

Copra Rajapur also moved up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 8,500 as compared to Rs 8,400 yesterday.
