Cops confront car robbers, vehicle recovered after a chase

The incident took place in outer Delhi last night when police fired two rounds, deflating the tyres of the car following which the robbers escaped leaving behind the vehicle.

At around 8.30 PM, one Punit Sharma approached a PCR van and complained that a gang of three-four robbers had robbed his car a few minutes back and that he had kept money inside the vehicle.

Police started checking vehicles in the area and noticed that the robbers were trying to escape with the vehicle by driving it from the wrong side.

"The PCR van staff tried to stop the vehicle but robbers tried to crush the staff under the vehicle but after damaging two to three cars they turned back on service road.

 

"The PCR staff chased and fired two rounds at the tyres of robbed vehicle which resulted in busting of tyres ," a senior police official said.

The robbers then left that car and fled taking advantage of the darkness.

Police recovered the vehicle along with the money inside it, the official said.
