Head Constable Balwinder Singh and home guard jawan Gurmukh Singh were on patrol duty on a motorcycle here on Saturday. The two cops felt tired in the early hours yesterday and decided to catch some sleep in the grain market here, Faridkot SP (Detective), Dilbag Singh said.
When Balwinder woke up, he realised that his rifle was missing and someone had stolen it, the SP said.
Balwinder Singh and Gurmukh Singh were yesterday booked on charges of negligence in performing their duty, Dilbag added.
