Copter couldn't take off due to bad weather; Maurya addresses

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya today addressed a public meeting here over phone as his helicopter could not take off from Etawah on time owing to bad weather condition.

Maurya had addressed election meetings in Mainpuri and Etawah today.

Civic polls in Uttar Pradesh will be held in three phases. Polling will be held in 24 districts tomorrow and in 25 districts on November 26. On November 29, polling will be held in 26 districts.

"Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya today addressed the voters of Faizullahgaj (Lucknow) over telephone, as due to bad weather in Etawah his helicopter could not take off on time," a statement from the Lucknow Mahanagar unit of the BJP said.
 

Addressing the meeting, Maurya said, "The way you have voted for the BJP in the Lok Sabha and UP Assembly elections, in the same manner help the lotus bloom and enable the party register a landslide win the urban local bodies polls."

"Funds from the Centre and of the state government are available for development of the entire state," the deputy chief minister said.

He also tendered an apology to the party workers and the people for not being able to attend the public meeting in person due to bad weather condition.

Counting of votes polled for 16 nagar nigams, 198 nagar palika parishads and 438 nagar panchayats will be done on December 1. Over 3.36 crore people are eligible to exercise their franchise.
