Corbett National Park employees in Uttarakhand today went on an indefinite strike demanding suspension of a police official who allegedly slapped its Kalagarh range officer recently.
The agitating employees alleged officer Brij Bihari Sharma was slapped by the Kalagarh Police Station SHO on February 17 and kept in the police lock up throughout the night.
They had set Pauri district administration a deadline till Monday for suspension of the SHO.
They said they would not end their strike till he was suspended.
The range officer and the SHO had an argument on February 17 over a structure that Corbett authorities claim falls within park's territory.

The Garhwal Divisional Commissioner has been asked to probe the matter, the Pauri administration said.
