Coriander prices on Thursday plunged Rs 228 to Rs 5,735 per quintal in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions amid weak demand in spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander contracts for April eased by Rs 228, or 3.82 per cent, to Rs 5,735 per quintal in 6,240 lots.

Similarly, coriander for May delivery dropped by Rs 192, or 3.21 per cent, to Rs 5,782 per quintal in 1,970 lots.

Market analysts said subdued demand in spot market mainly led to the decline in coriander prices here.
