Coriander prices were trading higher by 2.45 per cent to Rs 5,587 per quintal in futures trade today as participants indulged in enlarging positions amid rising spot demand.

Furthermore, tight stocks position following restricted arrivals from major growing regions also fuelled the uptrend.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander for January delivery rose by Rs 134, or 2.45 per cent, to Rs 5,587 per quintal with an open interest of 40,510 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in the current month traded higher by Rs 66, or 1.23 per cent, to Rs 5,440 per quintal, with an open interest of 430 lots.

Marketmen attributed the rise in coriander to pick-up in demand at spot market amid tight supplies from growing regions.
