Coriander prices on Thursday increased by Rs 18 to Rs 6,379 per quintal in futures trade on spot demand and restricted supplies from producing belts.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander for April delivery shot up by Rs 18, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 6,379 per quintal with an open interest of 2,150 lots.

Following the upward trend, the spice for May delivery traded higher by Rs 88, or 1.43 per cent, at Rs 6.242 per quintal in 3,910 lots.

A firm trend in spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions pushed up coriander prices here, market analysts said.
