Coriander prices on Friday rose by Rs 54 to Rs 5,779 per quintal in futures trade on positive demand in spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander for April delivery shot up by Rs 54, or 0.94 per cent, to Rs 5,779 per quintal with an open interest of 5,740 lots.

Similarly, the spice for May delivery traded higher by Rs 93, or 1.62 per cent, at Rs 5,829 per quintal in 2,120 lots.

A firm trend in spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions pushed coriander prices up, market analysts said.
