Coriander, jeera decline on sluggish demand

Coriander and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks position.

Coriander prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 10,800-15,800 per quintal.

Jeera common and best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 14,000-14,500 and Rs 17,200-17,700 per quintal.

Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks mainly pulled down coriander and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today's quotations:

Ajwain (per kg) 170-280, black pepper (per kg) 725-900, betel-nut (kg) 280-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,700-1,750 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,900.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 850-920, cardamom (colour robin) 800-850, cardamom bold 810-870, cardamom extra (bold) 1,000-1,030 and cloves 850-900.
