Coriander, jeera falls on subdued demand

Coriander and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists at higher levels amid sufficient stocks position.

Coriander prices eased by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 8,000-14,200 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 18,900-19,100 and Rs 21,200-21,700 per quintal.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists at higher levels against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and jeera prices.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 180-240, black pepper (per kg) 720-840, betel-nut (kg) 240-290, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,310-1,320 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,350-1,590.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 625-800, cardamom (colour robin) 610-620, cardamom bold 650-670, cardamom extra (bold) 750-760 and cloves 550-650.
