Coriander and jeera prices rose sharply by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today due to increased buying by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from producing belts.

Besides, a firming trend at futures market supported the price rise.

Coriander prices were up by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 11,900-16,900 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 17,100-17,700 and Rs 21,100-21,600 per quintal.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts pushed up coriander and jeera prices.
