Coriander, jeera remain higher on buying support

Coriander and jeera prices rose further by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today in view of fresh buying support from retailers and stockists amid paucity of stocks.

Besides, restricted arrivals from producing belts also supported the uptrend.

Coriander prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 8,600-13,600 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also higher by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 11,000-11,200 and Rs 13,500-14,500 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against restricted arrivals from producing belts, mainly pushed up coriander and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
 

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 570-700, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,050-1,260 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,300-1,425.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 650-750, cardamom (colour robin) 600-700, cardamom bold 650-700, cardamom extra (bold) 800-900 and cloves (kg) 860-930.
