Coriander, turmeric falls on subdued demand

Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subuded demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,500-14,000 and Rs 9,000-12,800 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and turmeric prices.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 175-240, black pepper (per kg) 720-860, betel-nut (kg) 235-280, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,360-1,370 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,410-1,600.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 570-750, cardamom (colour robin) 580-590, cardamom bold 600-625, cardamom extra (bold) 700-730 and cloves 550-665.
