Coriander, turmeric rise on fall in supply

Coriander and turmeric prices moved up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely supported by fall in supplies from producing belts against increased buying by retailers and stockists.

Besides, firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.

Coriander and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to to settle at Rs 12,300-17,100 and Rs 7,100-11,600 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up coriander and turmeric prices in the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today's quotations:

Ajwain (per kg) 140-200, black pepper (per kg) 760-940, betel-nut (kg) 285-335, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,480-1,500 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,580-1,690.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 750-800, cardamom (colour robin) 650-670, cardamom bold 670-700, cardamom extra (bold) 870-890 and cloves 725-840.
