Coriander, turmeric rise on tight supply

Coriander and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fall in supplies from producing belts against fresh buying by retailers and stockists.

Coriander and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 9,600-17,100 and Rs 6,800-11,400 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up coriander and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 700-850, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,350-1,400 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,450-1,560.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 720-770, cardamom (colour robin) 700-760, cardamom bold 750-770, cardamom extra (bold) 920-970 and cloves 800-850.
