Coriander, turmeric weaken on sluggish demand

Coriander and turmeric prices fell Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on muted demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks position.

Coriander and turmeric prices drifted lower by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 6,600-13,600 and Rs 7,400-10,700 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and turmeric prices.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 125-180, black pepper (per kg) 660-810, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 730-750 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 780-1,080.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,330-1,430, cardamom (colour robin) 1,210-1,230, cardamom bold 1,230-1,250, cardamom extra (bold) 1,330-1,350 and cloves 560-665.
