For the second time, the Corporate Affairs Ministry has extended the deadline for making statutory filings under the companies law amid glitches in using MCA21 portal in recent times.

Now, stakeholders can submit the filings without additional fee till June 10.

MCA21 is used for making electronic filings under the Companies Act and is managed by Infosys for the ministry. The upgraded system went live in the last week of March and there have been problems faced by stakeholders in using the portal.

In a communication issued on Monday, the Ministry said the last date for filing the documents without additional fee has been extended.

"... It has been decided to extend the period for which the one-time waiver of additional fees is applicable to all e-forms which are due for filing by companies between March 25, 2016 up to May 31, 2016 as well as extend the last date for filing such documents and availing the benefit of waiver to June 10, 2016," it said.

Last month, the Ministry had extended the deadline to May 10.

After upgradation to run on SAP platform, MCA21 went live on March 27.

On April 6, an Infosys spokesperson had said it was working with the Ministry to resolve the "minor teething problems" related to MCA21.

The portal is designed to fully automate all processes related to enforcement and compliance of legal requirements under the Companies Act.
