Srinagar-based Corps Commander Lt Gen A K Sharma and Jammu and Kashmir police chief K Rajendra Kumar today called on Governor NN Vohra and briefed him about the security situation in the state and borders.
The Governor discussed with the General Officer Commanding of 16 Corps certain issues relating to effective internal security management in the hinterland and further strengthening of the counter-infiltration grid, an official spokesman said.
With the state DGP, Vohra discussed certain issues relating to effective law and order management and action against all subversive elements, the spokesman said.
The Governor stressed the need for enhancing effective surveillance on all fronts and enforcing immediate deterrent action for engendering a safe environment and protection of life and property, the spokesman said.
