A couple and their four-year-old nephew were killed after being hit by a train while crossing the railway tracks in suburban Jogeshwari today, a railway official said.
The victims were identified as Santosh Tarsam (40), his wife Renuka and four-year-old Anshu Kolhe, son of Renuka's brother, the official said.
"The incident took place around 4.30 pm between Jogeshwari and Goregaon stations on the Western Railway line, when the trio was crossing railway tracks," he said.
Police inspected the site and recovered their bodies.
Further investigation is on.
