A 20-year-old domestic help along with her lover was arrested for allegedly stealing cash and gold ornaments weighing 400 gram from the house of her employer in Patel Nagar locality, police said today.
Puja and Vaibhav (21) were arrested yesterday and a sum of Rs 52,000 and gold ornaments were recovered from their possession, said Circle Officer Arun Kumar, adding the couple have confessed to the crime.
The woman was working in the house of a milk trader Rambir Balyan and stole the cash and ornaments along with her boyfriend on May 28.
The couple was planning to get married after selling the stolen items.
Meanwhile, a half-burnt body was found near Jhanderi village here, police said, adding that it has not been identified.
The body has been sent for postmortem.
