Couple beaten up, looted of cash, ornaments

Armed robbers barged into a house and looted cash and jewellery from a couple in Salvahanpur village here, police said today.

The accused beat the couple before escaping with the loot last night, they said, adding the victims were confined in the house during the crime.

They looted around Rs 2,000 cash, and gold and silver ornaments, police said.

A case has been registered against unidentified persons, they said.

Meanwhile, thieves after breaking two locks stole gold jewellery and cash from a house here.

The incident took place when the residents had gone out, police said, adding the owner of the house, Suman Jain, has registered a case against unidentified persons.
 

In another incident, three motorcycles were stolen yesterday from different parts of the city.

Cases have been registered against unidentified persons by Ajay Verma ,Dinesh and Ramveer, the owners of the stolen motorcycles, at the Kotwali police station, they said.

No arrests or recovery of stolen goods has been made in any of the incidents yet, police said.
