Unable to bear with their poor financial condition, a couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a ceiling fan in their house in Rajasthan's Sikar district, police said today.
The incident occurred last night when 48-year-old Babu Lal and his wife Babli (43), parents of three, committed suicide in a room of their house in Ringus area, they said, adding that their children were sleeping in separate room.
In a suicide note recovered from the house, the couple mentioned that they were taking the extreme step due to bad financial condition.
The matter is being investigated, the police added.
