A jail warden and his wife were electrocuted and their son sustained burns after they came in contact with a live wire at their residential quarters in the sub-jail premises here, police said today.
The incident occurred when Minati Rath had accidentally touched a live wire yesterday while drying clothes outside. As her husband Girish Prasad Rath tried to pull her apart, the couple were electrocuted, Superintendent of Police Narasingh Bhol said.
Their son, who tried to rescue his parents, sustained serious burn injuries, but was saved after being thrown to a distance, Bhol said.
He was now being treated at the district headquarters hospital here, he added.
