A couple was today awarded death sentence by a local court in a honour killing case.
Additional district judge S N Tripathi held Mastan and his wife Shakeela gulity of killing their daughter Chandni (20) and her lover Idris (28) and pronounced the verdict on them, prosecution sources said here.
The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 each on the convicts.
Mastan was opposed to the relationship of the victims following which he killed the couple on the night of June 29.
Later, a case was lodged by the family members of Idris against him and his wife Shakeela.
