Couple held captive for three days for not returning money

Police today rescued a couple, who were allegedly held captive and being tortured by a money lender for not returning the amount they have borrowed from him, near Sulur on the outskirts, police said.

Based on a tip off that Deepanraja and his wife were held captive by the money lender in a house and being tortured for the last three days for the delay in returning Rs 10,000 they had taken from him, police raided the place and rescued the couple.

Police said they have yet to trace the money lender.
