A couple was today killed and a girl injured after a speeding SUV hit them at Hinauta village in Mahewaghat area here, police said.
Badri Prasad (52), his wife Usha Devi (52) and the girl were sitting alongside the road when the vehicle ran over them, killing the couple on the spot, Manjhanpur Circle officer Purnendu Singh said.
The injured girl was rushed to a hospital where her condition was stated to be stable, he said, adding, her identity is yet to be ascertained.
Police is trying to nab the SUV driver, who fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind, Singh said.
