A court here admitted the charge sheet submitted by the Special Investigation Team inquiring into the murder of independent panchayat member Sagar Ghosh at Parui in Birbhum district despite a plea against it by the wife of Ghosh.
Saraswati Ghosh, the wife of Sagar Ghosh, who was shot dead before the last panchayat elections, appealed to the Suri court not to admit the charge sheet, but the court did not find the reasons advanced by her appropriate, according to Kuntal Chatterjee, the Assistant Public Prosecutor.
Birbhum district Trinamool Congress president Anubrata Mandal is one of the 41 accused in the murder of Sagar Ghosh, who won the panchayat elections contesting as an independent candidate after allegedly being denied Parui ticket by Trinamool Congress in July 2013.
