Court allows couple to live together

A 19-year-old girl, who had eloped with a boy belonging to another community, was allowed to live with her husband by a local court here after she submitted that she had willingly changed her religion.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar asked the girl to live with Sanjiv after she recorded her statement that she had willingly married the youth and converted her religion.

The girl, who was produced in the court yesterday, was found to be major as per the medical test.

The court ordered that the girl be allowed to live with the boy and police protection be given.
 

The parents of the girl had registered an FIR against Sanjiv for allegedly abducting their minor daughter from Ladhwala area on September 8.

Security has been tightened in the city after people protested over the incident.
