Chief Judicial Magistrate Dr Rajnish granted the custody of the 15-year-old girl to her parents, who had earlier moved an application before the court in this regard.

The girl's parents had also moved an application earlier before the court seeking termination of her pregnancy being a minor rape victim, which, however, is pending.

The Court had recently directed the police to produce the girl, who is lodged in Nari Niketan in Jalandhar, for recording her statement today.

The girl's statement was recorded in-camera.

The victim was allegedly abducted by Nishan Singh, who is facing eighteen criminal cases, at gunpoint in public view from her house on September 24 and later the abductor and the teenager was recovered by police from Goa.

Initially the girl had refused to go under medical examination and to her parents following which she was sent by the court to Nari Niketan at Jalandhar.

However, a medical board had recently found the teenaged girl pregnant.

Meanwhile, the police had arrested all the 18 identified accused in this case, including the mother of prime accused.
