The Calcutta High Court today directed the National Commission of Women to inquire into the minor girl's going missing and who had later returned home reportedly on her own at Mograhat in South 24-Parganas district.
Justice Dipankar Dutta directed the Commission to inquire into the reasons and submit a report within August five.
The order was passed on a petition filed by Debdutta Majhi seeking an independent investigation into the disappearence of the girl.
