Court directs police to probe forgery charges against BJP

A local court today directed the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir police to investigate the case of allegedly fake degree produced by the wife of a sitting BJP MLA Gagan Bhagat from Jammu's R S Pura assembly constituency.

In her complaint, a woman has accused the MLA's wife of possessing a fake degree on which she claims to be a doctor by profession and was running a private hospital.

Neelam Kumari, Member of Board of Directors, Jammu and Kashmir Women Credit Cooperative filed the complaint alleging that Monika Sharma, wife of the MLA Gagan Bhagat is holding a fake degree of BAMS on which she was also running a full-fledged private hospital in R S Pura.
 

The Judicial Magistrate 1st class asked the Crime Branch to register a case and start investigations into the allegations.

When contacted, Gagan Bhagat claimed his wife was being framed as part of a conspiracy by a lady who had taken Rs five five lakh from his wife to secure a seat for her in a medical college.
