Court examines witnesses in case against BSP MLA

A local court here today examined three witnesses in a six year old case related to wrongful confinement of a Delhi-based trader.

Addtional chief judicial magistrate Sunder Lal examined the three witnesses of the prosecution, namely Delhi Police Inspector J N Bhardwaj, SI Rajnikant, Constable Manoj Kumar in the case against a BSP MLA Noor Saleem Rana.

The court fixed February 6 as the next day of hearing and also exempted Rana from being present in the court after his lawyer submitted an application in this regard.

According to prosecution, police registered a case against Rana under section 344 of IPC for wrongful confinement of a Delhi based trader named Manoj Aggarwal in September 2009.
 

Thereafter, the Delhi police with the help of local police freed the trader from the accused's factory. Charges were framed against the accused on September29, 2012.
