A city-based entrepreneur Santanu Ghosh, who has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with his transaction to the tune of over Rs 50 crore with Saradha Group chairman Sudipta Sen, was today remanded to its custody by a court here.
Chief judge of City Sessions Court Mohd Mumtaz Khan granted Ghosh's custody to the ED till June 30 on a plea by the central agency that it needed to interrogate him to locate the money purportedly used to buy his company Global Automobiles by Saradha scam prime accused Sudipta Sen.
ED lawyers claimed before the court that it wanted to know from Ghosh where the money amounting to over Rs 50 crore that he got from Sen's Bengal Media Private Ltd, an arm of the Saradha Group, went for the sale of Global Automobiles in 2010.

It prayed for five days' custody of Ghosh, who had earlier set up Zenitis, a computer manufacturing firm, here.
Ghosh claimed that he had followed all norms in the sale of Global Automobiles to Sen and had not resorted to any irregularity.
Seeking bail, Ghosh claimed that he would have to go to the banks to furnish the details that the ED was seeking in connection with the case.
Hearing both the parties, the judge granted five days' custody of Ghosh to ED.
