The special MCOCA court conducting trial in the Aurangabad arms haul case here today imposed costs of Rs 20,000 on the Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad for filing some documents late.

Special public prosecutor Vaibhav Bhagade said the court observed that the documents will be admitted subject to the payment of costs.

"The court said that already 58 witnesses have been examined, and pulled up the ATS for the delayed submission of documents," said defence lawyer Shrikant Sonkavade.

On May 8, 2006, a Maharashtra ATS team had chased a Tata Sumo and an Indica car on the Chandwad-Manmad highway near Aurangabad and arrested three terror suspects and seized 30 kg RDX, 10 AK-47 assault rifles and 3,200 bullets, according to the prosecution.
