A court here ordered lodging of a case against ruling Samajwadi Party MLA and dismissed minister Narad Rai for allegedly witholding information about a criminal case against him and details of his children from first wife in the affidavit submitted during the 2012 assembly elections.
Chief Judicial Magistrate, Shobh Nath Singh, passed the order on the complaint of one Chandramani Rai of Maldepur village under Phephna police station area. The order was given on October 28 and released today.
It was alleged that despite a criminal case being heard in the court against him, Narad Rai had not mentioned it in the affidavit. Besides, he had not mentioned the names of son and daughter from his first wife.
The court has asked Ballia police to lodge a case and investigate the matter.
