A local court today directed the police department to take action against an officer for his arrogant behaviour in the court.
Additional chief metropolitan magistrate A V Hirpara asked the DIG, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad police commissioner to take "legal actions" against inspector of Amraiwadi A V Rajgor.
Rajgor, who appeared in the court today after a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued in his name, told the judge it was not his responsibility to submit any seized articles (related to a case), the court order said.

He also said that he was not an accused and the court had no power to issue a warrant against him, it said.
"The behaviour demonstrated by the police inspector is against the graceful manner in which a senior police officer has to present himself before the court," said the judge.
The court ordered him to remain in its custody for about three hours and made him sit in the box meant for the accused.
Rajgor appeared before the court in an Arms Act case of 2008, and to get the warrant issued against him cancelled.
The accused in the case, Nelson Steve Mcwan, is in judicial custody since the charge sheet was filed in February 2009.
The court had time and again asked the police and the public prosecutor to submit all the seized articles related to the case, but Rajgor failed to appear before the court and submit the articles, so a warrant was issued against him on the last occasion.
Several lawyers, peeved after hearing of the inspector's arrogant behaviour, came to the court and the judge had to call the police to avoid any untoward situation.
Later the court cancelled the warrant against Rajgor on the condition he will produce the seized articles and will not misbehave in future.
