A juvenile court today ordered a teenager to clean school premises and teach dalit students for three months to atone for using a proxy to write his matriculation examination two years ago.
A three-member jury headed by judicial magistrate Jigar Shah passed the order directing the teenager to undertake social service comprising cleaning school premises and teaching students in a dalit 'tola' (colony) in his village for three months to atone for his mistake, his lawyer Shakeel Ahmed said.
The incident had come to light after a fake examinee was caught by invigilators for writing examination for the teenager, he said.
While the fake examinee was arrested for writing examination for another student and his case was being heard by a local court, the teenager too was detained and lodged in a remand home, Khan said.
