A Lokayukta court today ordered a probe into a private complaint filed against Karnataka Minister S A Ravindranath alleging illegal allotment of residential sites to his kin by "misusing" his power.

The court directed Lokayukta police to investigate into the matter and submit report by October 26.

In his complaint, Sri Rama Sene activist Manikanta charged that the district in-charge minister, who also holds the portfolio of sugar and horticulture, along with Myakonda MLA Basavaraja Nayak and 10 others had allotted residential sites to his (Ravindranath) kith and kin at J H Patel Extension here flouting rules and regulations three years ago.

Manikanta submitted that earlier he along with Sene leader Pramod Muthalik had met Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar in this regard and requested him to order an investigation into the matter.

When no action was taken by Suresh Kumar, Manikanta decided to file a complaint in the court here.
